Hello!
Yes there is that aption, you can simply do the following
1. search for a student
2. In a student profile page, there are link just on top rightside of the students details form
3. Choose a delete link, it will take you to two options a. delete and remove student records i guess
4. pick remove student records.
nb. The difference between the two options are well rendered in their descriptions
